Biblioblog Top 20 by Urim and Thummim

Due to the confusion about how to measure the top biblioblogs each month, I will begin a new Top 20, based on my use of the Urim and Thummim, which I acquired from a former employer at the Baghdad Museum in 2003 (picture attached of Urim inscribed with gimel).

Urim (front)

The selection of the Biblioblog Top 20 by use of Urim and Thummim will provide the only BIBLICALLY BASED measure of biblioblogs (Exod. 28:30; Lev. 8:8; Num. 27.21; Deut 33:8; 1 Sam. 14:41; 28:6; Ezra 2:63; Neh. 7:65). Let the Lord speak to the blogosphere!!!!!!

The Biblioblog Top 20 will commence for December 2010.

Batman Pretends to be Gay: Total Depravity

Here’s a scene from one of my old Batman comics:

Absolute depravity. Why should people pretend to be what they’re not? There are unseen pressures of homonormativity at work in society today. And they’re not doing anybody any good. Come out, Batman, be the straight superhero you are.

That is, unless you’re really not, me ol’ batty boy.

Ludwig Andreas von Feuerbach: Lest we forget

Today, September 13, 2010, is the 138th anniversary of the death of German theologian, Ludwig Andreas von Feuerbach (1804-1872).

Feuerbach is famous for turning theology into anthropology; for converting the question of God into the question of what it is in some humans that makes us invent such a God. In his own words: “the true sense of Theology is Anthropology.” For Feuerbach, God is the fantasy of humanity’s ideal attributes. All of our most lofty theological notions have their origins in mundane human desires, such as our desires for food, companionship, or sex.

His landmark theological work is Das Wesen des Christentums (The Essence of Christianity; 1841), and a complete copy can be read here.

God Kills 44 People in New Delhi: Absolute Depravity

God, responsible for the systematic destruction of well over 99 percent of the world’s species, has been killing New Delhians. He has killed 44 to date, with his recent bacterial agent, the Swine Flu.

A four and a half year old boy, who was admitted to Chacha Nehru Hospital in Delhi, succumbed to the killer disease. Another patient was a 56-year-old man. He was admitted to the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital…. The number of H1N1 positive cases has gone up to 1,281 this year.

Swine flu in a four-and-a-half-year-old boy! Absolute depravity. News report here.

John Milbank on erotic dancing: Total Depravity

Sheffield Biblical Studies report some total depravity from theologian, John Milbank, in which he gets his foot in his mouth while attempting a metaphysical erotic dance. Have a read of his ridiculous ramblings, here. Disgraceful.
