The Evangelical Exegetical Commentary: Creationist “Scholarship” on Genesis and More!

Doug Chaplin sends out a warning about The Evangelical Exegetical Commentary (EEC), a new 44-volume biblical commentary series on the whole Bible, available through Logos in 2011:

“I googled the author of the proposed volume on Genesis – a William Barrick of whom I’d never otherwise heard – to see what we might expect as “rigorous critical scholarship”. On his website he offers a number of links to creation studies and research. Sadly they are all to creationists weirder ramblings, beginning with Answers in Genesis.”

So avoid these like the series of Egyptian plagues (which no doubt the EEC will defend as historically plausible)!
